David Rhodes, Sky News Group Executive Chairman, confirmed in a letter to colleagues that Ian will continue to work on Sky's digital platforms until he leaves the business.

He wrote: "Ian has been with Sky for ten years, enriching our news report with his knowledge of finance and his network in the City of London.

"We're delighted that he will continue to be a resource on our digital estate at this time.

"I met this morning with the Business team to discuss our continued commitment to "Business Live", hosted in recent months principally by Paul Kelso and Darren McCaffrey from our main newsroom.

"We're increasing our investment in this area, for instance in the hit Money Blog-- a consistent audience favourite.

"I want to thank Ian for his commitment to Sky News; we’ll make sure to organise a deserved send-off next year."

A spokesperson for Sky News said: "Business Live will continue to be on air and we are committed to the programme."

Sky recently relocated Business Live with Ian King from its Square Mile address in central London.

It's now broadcast from Sky's Osterley HQ in West London.

Following the move in September Ian has not presented the show, with colleagues stepping in for him.

Buisness Live with Ian King is broadcast Monday to Friday from 11.30am until 4.30pm.

It's been reported that Ian will leave the channel early next year.

Meanwhile Ian's fellow Sky News presenter Kay Burley recently celebrated a huge milestone.

She currently hosts her own show - Breakfast with Kay Burley - and joined when the channel launched in 1988.

Taking to social media last month, Kay told fans: "Thirty-six years today @skynews and counting…"
