Homes Under The Hammer hosts shocked as woman buys two flats 'by accident' because she 'wasn't wearing her glasses

Coffee shop owner Dianna appeared in an episode of Homes Under The Hammer back in 2020.

She initially had the intention of buying two flats that were close to each other on the long-running BBC One property show

However, the buyer wasn’t looking properly and she bought the wrong apartments by mistake in a huge error.

Dianna explained: “I went to the auction for something else, and I didn’t get the other thing.

“So I thought oh I’ll have these flats. But I thought these flats were the flats next door but one.”

Longtime property expert Martin couldn’t hide his shock at her unprecedented move on the show.

He asked: “At what point did you realise you hadn’t bought the flats that you thought you’d bought.”

Diane replied: “Somebody outbid me. I told my husband and family and pointed out the flats that I thought we bought, with the new windows, that were two doors down.

“Then I met the guy from the auction, and then we came into this flat, and I was like ‘oh’.”

Martin couldn’t help but asked if she had seen a picture of the flats in any of the catalogues.

This made Dianna pause in thought as she remarked: “Well, I didn’t have my glasses on.”

But after spending a whopping £67,000 at the auction, she attempted to make the best of her mistake.

She explained her plans to spend a few hundred pounds on new flooring at the property.

On X – formerly known as Twitter – one user laughed: “A lady on Homes Under the Hammer bought two flats by mistake because she was disappointed at losing out on a Methodist church (?!) and bought what she thought was a different property for sale on the same road to help her cope with her son being a rally driver. I LOVE IT!”

A second viewer joked: “The utter chaos of her.”

“This woman is officially a HUTH legend. Incredible,” exclaimed a third Homes Under The Hammer fan.

As a fourth humorously comment: “An inspiration to us all.”

While someone else remarked: “I bet she still made money though. They always do on that programme.”

A sixth user added: “Oh my god. This is amazing and I have so many questions.”

But it’s not just Dianne who made a mistake – even show host Martin has admitted to a few property fails.

At the time of the pandemic, he posted hilarious videos of various household faults that arose during lockdown.

He said at the time: “I’m just trying to fix this towel rail, there’s been this horrible leak, so all I was trying to do is tighten this bit here with my spanner which I did successfully.

“However, in doing that, this one here has started leaking!”
