Coronation Street’s Julia Goulding teases shock affair for Shona Platt after bombshell romp
CORONATION Street's Julia Goulding has teased a shock affair for Shona Platt after her bombshell romp.
Shona was furious when her husband David lied to her about her son Clayton but Julia never thought she would cheat on him.
Julia, 39, who plays Shona on the cobbles, told The Sun: "I never expected Shona to cheat on David, it’s been eight years, eight years they’ve been together.
"She’s always been faithful and never looked at another man. But, she was pushed to it!"
When asked why David has pushed her to it, the actress responds: "He's been gas lighting her.
"He’s hidden all of the visiting orders and I think it’s out of pure revenge.

"I don’t think she's necessarily been lusting after Kit, I don’t think he’s crossed her radar, she’s probably served him a couple of times in Roy’s Rolls, she’s very loyal, so it’s absolute revenge!"
Viewers will see Kit invite her to his hotel room for a second helping. but is Shona capable of starting a fun blown affair?
Julia certainly thinks so, saying: "Well, I mean have you seen him! Would she have an affair? "I suppose it depends how good that night was!
"I think because it was a revenge, she’s obviously tempted because she goes back to the hotel room so, it must have been a really good night!"
Julia explains that David thinks she's sleeping on the sofa after the couple have another big argument and that she sneaks out to see Kit again.
"She does go to the hotel room. She plucks up the courage and knocks on the door, but you’ll have to see what happens." she teases.
But unfortunately for Shona things don't go quite to plan because on the way home she has an accident and finds herself having to lie to David about what's happened.
Julia explains: "She gets hit by a car and her arm gets broken but David think she’s asleep on the sofa so she’s got to think quick because it’s not until the next day that she wakes up and her arm is still bad."
She elaborates: "She’s not a David character, she’s doesn’t lie off the cuff, because she is genuinely just a nice easy person to be around, unless you cross.
"This is the start of this web of lies that she’s spiralling into. It’s not good for poor Shona."
Coronation Street's 2024 shock exits
Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let's break down who's left the famous soap:
Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany.
The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the £10,000 bribe Eliza's grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life.
Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes.
After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite was devastated to learn he only had months left to live.
Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering.
Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America.
Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paul’s impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full.
Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles.
The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend.
Simon's been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy.
Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child.
It looks likely she'll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind.
Show stalwart Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end.
Her character left the Street after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia.
However, Kit knows all about the accident so he might make things worse for the couple if he tells David the truth.
Julia doesn't think he will and says: "So far he’s been nothing but nice to her, I think she’s wary of him but mainly because she’s so scared of the secret coming out.
