Actress Daisy Campbell was axed by bosses after 13 years on the soap

EMMERDALE is bringing back actor Mark Jordon after five years for Daisy Campbell’s exit storyline.

The actor - who played Daz Spencer in the ITV soap - will make a brief return for his on-screen daughter’s swansong after she was axed after 13 years on the soap.

Actress Daisy told The Sun: “I end up going to live back with Daz in Leicester

“Yeah, because we had a scene where I'd say, ‘I'm off to move to Leicester with Esther’ [laughter] and I end up moving back with Daz which is nice

“He comes back for one episode, which is lovely.”

But despite Mark’s return, Daisy’s exit left her feeling sad.

“Oh, it feels really sad,” she said.

“It's mixed emotions really I think. It’s been such a tough year, and I've had to deal with so much, but I was so at peace when leaving because I've grieved through it.

“Because I'm not only grieving for myself, it's a character that I've always played, this is my first ever job from being seven, so it felt really sad.

“But then it was nice to close the door and be at peace, because I've just allowed it to play out as it has this year.

Emmerdale fans spot major blunder as Daz Spencer is attacked by a tiny woman

“So, the first week was really emotional, because Mark comes back. Mark Jordan, Daz, so it was lovely to see him again.

“So that was really emotional and whenever I work with Laura, who plays Kerry, she's so good at doing emotions, the way she cries, I cry.

“But then the second week, I think I was used to it, because I was really dreading my last block, because I hate crying in front of people unless it's for a scene.

“I was like, ‘Oh, I've not got teary ones this week.’ But yeah, it was emotional, really emotional.”
