Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ shock character return – after over two decades away
EAGLE eyed Coronation Street viewers think they have stumbled on a shock plot twist on the cobbles.
Rumours are swirling around the Battersby clan as they come to terms with the untimely, off-screen, death of their iconic patriarch, Les.
Now viewers think that a small, and rare, mention of Les’s son, Greg Kelly, could mean that he’s about to make a shock return to the street as part of the murky plot.
This week the Battersby family were left mystified by the offer of £50,000 by the abattoir where Les died.
Les's workplace insists it's just compensation, but Chesney has been particularly keen to investigate the circumstances of his step-dad's demise.
It could be coincidence but it seems that this could have made Chesney a target for a shadowy figure in a van who has stalked him back to the famous street.

This, combined with the mysterious death and a discussion between Toyah and Leanne about whether anyone should contact the villainous Greg, has peaked fan's interests.
One viewer picked up on the mention and took to X to say: ”A Greg Kelly mention in 2024 is nice.”
But others went further saying: “I wonder if Rowan and the institute or Greg Kelly or the guys in the van had a hand in Les’s 'accident.' It all sounds too dodgy.”
Another suggested “Justice for Joel, an all-night bakery and the return of Greg Kelly is what Corrie needs.”

Greg, originally played by Stephen Billington, is Les’s son from a previous relationship.
He caused heartbreak and terror when he lived on the street in the late 90s.
He came onto the scene as a handsome new character keen to explore his relationship with his father and soon caught the eye of fan favourite, hairdresser Maxine.
Greg was always looking for the next way to make his fortune and his head was soon turned by a grieving Sally Webster, who was sitting on a recent inheritance windfall from her mother.
Keen to cash in, Greg soon ditched Maxine and convinced Sally that she was the love of his life, moving Sally, Rosie and Sophie into the flat above the shop.
What followed was a rein of theft, simmering bad tempers and, ultimately, violence with Sally fleeing the abusive relationship.
