NETFLIX have just released their latest bingeworthy series and take it from me, it's a corker!
Keira Knightley leads the star-studded cast in the brand new spy thriller, Black Doves.
The Love Actually star plays secret spy Helen who just so happens to be married to a government minister.
But the other man who she is really in love with who gets caught in the crossfires of the London underworld, and she's out for revenge.
She's joined by the voice of Paddington Bear, Ben Whishaw as her assassin friend Sam and her character answers to Reed, played by Sarah Lancashire.
But if you think this is a repetition of her lovely and good-natured part in Happy Valley, you can think again.

This is a first for the former Coronation Street star who called it a 'privilege' to play the enigmatic character alongside two movie A-list supertars.
She spoke to last night on the red carpet at the world premiere of the anticipated series, where she was a picture of humility.
"I was very lucky because I was playing opposite Ben and Keira ... all my work is on with them," she explained to me.
Adding: "It’s just a privilege isn’t it. I mean, you've got two actors who are really at the top of their game, it’s a great position to be in."

However, I would argue that she is at the top of her game in a quite sinister portrayal of a spy mistress that orders cold blooded murders and negotiates in secret on a daily basis.
Writer Joe Barton told me that he intended for the character to originally be played by a male actor, but seeing Sarah thrive in the role was too good of an opportunity to miss.
Personally, I would agree that her performance is one that is too good to miss alongside British acting royalty such as Oscar-nominated Keira.
I would also suggest that this is also a career defining performance for the former Pirates of the Caribbean actress.
Recent projects for her roles in films like Misbehaviour, Colette, Official Secrets, and Boston Stranger have been criminally underrated by the stuffy critics.
I adored her period dramas like Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, and Anna Karenina but I think I might just love this new and mysterious era even more.

She is famous for her role alongside Johnny Depp as Elizabeth Swann in the global swashbuckler franchise.
But for the first time in 20 years, we get to see the Imitation Game star become truly unleashed in an action setting, and it's utterly delicious to watch.
Keira has defined this series as "murder and mayhem," and whilst the actress admits that this is very much a Christmas show, it falls more within the Die Hard tradition.
She told TalkRadio last night: "If you are getting angry with your family and you need a bit of an outlet, then this is a really good one for that."

Some might even go as far to say it is the perfect antidote to her cuddly and soppy role in Love Actually that we crack out at this time every year alongside Kate Winslet in The Holiday.
The fact that Netflix gave the green light for the second series should tell you all that you need to know.
I have not felt excitement for a series like this from the streamer since they were gearing up for the release of the first series of Bridgerton.
Before that, I felt a very similar sensation for Sex Education as Gillian Anderson kicked of her own on-screen renaissance.
Sky released their own formidable thriller in the form of the Day Of The Jackal remake.

Eddie Redmayne and James Bond's own Lashana Lynch have stunned viewers with their gripping tale.
However, this show also has all the hallmarks of a great spy franchise with plenty of stunts and crazy kicking.
But on top of the liberating screams and guts galore, we also get a web of sinister events in the background that haunt every frame of footage.
Black Doves has dark, sinister and moody scenes that set the screen alight whilst simultaneously packing a punch (literally) with the fight sequences.

So in the spirit of Keira's comments, forget Love Actually ... I want more of this!
