Glastonbury fans ‘work out’ HUGE US rock band with iconic hit have signed up for secret set at 2025 festival
GLASTONBURY fans think they have worked out that a huge US rock band has signed up for a secret set at the 2025 festival.
The US rock band have announced two summer UK shows in Cardiff and Lytham, just days before Glastonbury kicks off on June 26.
Kings of Leon will headline the new Cardiff concert series Blackweir Live on June 29 followed by a set at Northern England’s Lytham Festival in Lancashire on July 2.
Fans have taken to Reddit to share their theories, pointing to the convenient timing in the band’s schedule.
One user wrote: "Just announced Cardiff (June 29th) and Lytham (July 2nd). I could see them playing, especially after the tweet they put out last year during the festival"
Others joined in the speculation with one saying: "They’d be an underwhelming headliner these days but would be a fantastic secret set"

Another added: "As Brandon Flowers said during their secret set in 2017, 'you play the tent once on the way up and once on the way back down' Before promptly headlining the next festival making that nonsense"
"I've also just realised KOL have never played the tent 😂 I'd assumed they had but they went straight in at pyramid in 2004" added a fourth.
"Agree with other comments. Absolutely perfect for a secret set" stated another fan.
Kings of Leon is an American rock band formed in Tennessee, in 1999 and consists of brothers Caleb, Nathan, and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill.
Their iconic single, Sex On Fire is the band's signature song played around the world.
It topped the British charts and went five times Platinum in the UK and an amazing 13 times Platinum in Australia.
However, earlier this year, Kings of Leon were rumoured to perform a secret set at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival due to a gap in their touring schedule.
But after teasing fans on social media saying they were close to the festival.
The band's Jared Followill dispelled the rumours and stated: "Everybody keeps telling me we’re playing a secret gig at Glastonbury today.
"Somebody has to tell our manager, booking agent, singer, etc.. ASAP.”
Glastonbury 2025 - rumoured acts
THE Glastonbury line-up hasn't been confirmed - despite the fact tickets for the 2025 event sold out in minutes. Here are some rumoured acts.
Basement Jaxx sparked speculation they will be playing at Worthy Fam after leaving a "Glastonbury shaped gap" in their latest tour schedule.
It came after the hit duo announced their first live shows in 10 years - with gig-goers calling out a key "clue" in the order of their concert dates.
Yet acts including Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Eminem are rumoured to be in the mix.
Canadian songstress Alanis Morrisette and Simple Minds have also been tipped to take to the stage.
The event will run from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday June 29 for 2025.
The band last headlined the festival in 2008 but Glastonbury is known for secret sets and unannounced performances from huge stars.
While there has been no official confirmation from the band or festival organisers, the rumours have added to the mounting excitement around Glastonbury 2025.
It was first revealed last March how soul superstar, Stevie Wonder, was in the running for a return to the farm in last year.
But weeks later, the soul superstar had to pull the plug. A source told us at the time: “The mood behind the scenes is fraught, to say the least.
However, we recently reported that Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis, is keen to have the star "signed, sealed and delivered" for a 2025 appearance on the iconic Pyramid Stage.
