Dame Judi Dench’s next TV project revealed as heartwarming festive special
DAME JUDI DENCH’s will be back on our screens with a gorgeous festive number - and a new sidekick.
The film legend was last seen on air with a gentle travelogue alongside Jay Blades but has now paired with The Yorkshire Vet for a Christmas special with a cause.
Judi has teamed up with The Yorkshire Vet Peter Wright for A Donkey For Christmas, which will air on December 17.
The pair travel to the The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary in Cornwall where Dame Judi became a patron after visiting in 2022 and falling in love with them.
Peter will then visit sanctuaries from County Durham to Cornwall to celebrate the work of teams rehabilitating neglected and abused donkeys.
He will then work to find some of them new homes in the process in the heartwarming project.

Dame Judi remains a fixture on our screens despite her battle with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) which means she is unable to "see on a film set anymore".
AMD is an eye disease that can blur an individual’s central vision. According to the National Eye Institute, age-related macular degeneration “happens when aging causes damage to the macula – the part of the eye that controls sharp, straight-ahead vision.”
The disease does not cause total blindness, but it can make everyday activities difficult.
Dame Judi was last seen with Jay on The Odd Couple but Channel 4 has subsequently revealed there would be no sequel following Jay being charged with coercive and controlling behaviour towards his wife.
