CORONATION Street fans have pointed out a significant plot hole in Joel Deering’s murder storyline, suggesting Lauren Bolton might not be guilty after all.
Corrie delivered a dramatic conclusion to the much-anticipated whodunnit storyline, finally revealing Joel Deering's (Calum Lill) murderer and the shocking circumstances of his death in a thrilling, Hollywood blockbuster-style episode.
The exciting episode saw a series of flashbacks from the night of Joel’s murder, interspersed with Kit Green’s (Jacob Roberts) police interviews.
Viewers of the ITV soap finally got the view from the bridge and discover who delivered the final blow that really killed Joel.
It was revealed that abuser Joel was killed by victim Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) with the murder covered up by her boyfriend Max Turner (Paddy Bever).
The crucial flashback on the bridge revealed that Lauren delivered the fatal blow to Joel's head, killing him with rock, while he strangled Max.

Then, Max had the idea to throw Joel's body into the canal to look like suicide, where he was later found unconscious.
However, Corrie fans have pointed out a huge blunder that proves Lauren and Max couldn't have killed Joel.
The inconsistencies with the state of Joel’s body, which seemed at odds with the timeline of events, raising doubts about their involvement.
One eagle-eyed viewer said that Joel was found in a body bag in the canal.

But neither Lauren or Max put Joel's body into a bag as Max was seen pushing Joel's body over the edge on the bridge as it is.
Taking to a fan forum on Reddit, the fan wrote: "Who wrapped him in a body bag? He was found in a body bag/binbags/a tarpaulin wrapped up.
"People were arguing it could be a long coat but he wasn’t wearing one when Lauren pushed him over.
"Did someone else actually finish the job, or have Corrie just made a massive c*** up and forgotten he was wrapped up?"
Another fan added: "That’s just what I came here to ask lol, I’m so confused."
A third commented: "Omg I'm laughing, that's right, I can't believe they'd make such a mistake."
However, Lauren being the murderer makes complete sense, as she had suffered the most at his hands, so it feels right that she delivered the fatal blow.
