Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies reveals how she dropped three dress sizes after showing off transformation
DRAGONS’ Den star Sara Davies has shared her secrets to getting fit and healthy after dropping three dress sizes over the course of this year.
The crafting entrepreneur, who turned 40 in April, admits that the landmark age proved to be a drive for her to focus on her health, hoping to do the Great North Run.
This week, she completed a 2000m trek up the Himalayas in aid of CoppaFeel.
She’s also gone from a size 16 to a size 12 as her efforts to feel healthier started paying off.
However, Sara admits that despite her health turnaround, it’s not from going to the gym, which she “hates”, and weighing scales have nothing to do with it.
“I love running though,” she told .

“What’s interesting is people keep saying, ‘Oh my God, you’ve lost so much weight’ but I actually weigh exactly the same. In fact, when I got on the scales a couple of days ago, I was two pounds heavier than I was in January.
“I’ve toned up, I’ve lost inches and I’ve gone down a few dress sizes.”
Sara says that rather than focusing on the scales, she is finding out what makes her feel great and healthy.
She started by cutting out sugar after being told she had high glucose levels, which could put her at risk of becoming diabetic.

“I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and they say within 10 years you’re then likely to develop type two.
"My eldest son is now 10 so I knew this was the year that I could be borderline. It was a real kick up the bum to do something about it.”
Previously, Sara told closer that she's learned to love kombucha - a fermented, lightly sparkling, sweetened black tea drink – thanks to her Dragons' Den co-star Deborah Meaden.
"It’s life-changing," she said. "She drinks it at lunch time and I thought it was really dodgy-looking, but now I love it.
"It feels like we’re having a glass of wine together over lunch."
"I’m a convert to kombucha. Deborah’s vegan and I’m a big meat lover, but she’s learned how to get protein from other sources," Sara added.
"She’s a healthy eater and she really cares for the environment, I learn a lot from her.
"But I give her my hair and make-up tips, so we’re even!"
