Strictly fans scream for judge to be AXED after over-scoring ‘cringe’ performance ‘filled with mistakes’

It's not the first time fans have accused the judge of 'favouritism'

STRICTLY fans have insisted one of the judges needs to be axed after 'over-scoring' a performance 'filled with mistakes'.

Tonight's Strictly Come Dancing saw the return of Blackpool week, with the duos putting on show-stopping displays.

Pete Wicks and his professional partner Jowita Przystal danced the Cha Cha to Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy.

Former Towie star Pete dressed for the occasion in a pair of skintight pink PVC trousers.

The performance failed to impress viewers and judge Criag Revel Horwood but Shirley Ballas loved it, scoring Pete and Jowita and eight.

The score didn't go down well with fans who took to social media to hit out at Shirley for ignoring Pete's mistakes.

One wrote: "Need Shirley to leave after this series. So f****** unprofessional. Pete gets 'very entertaining' for that."

Another said: "Shirley losing all credibility as a judge."

Someone else wrote: "No matter what Pete does Shirley praises him."

And a fourth said: "I need Shirley's head judge status removed."

It's not the first time fans have hit out at Shirley and accused her of favouring Pete over the other celebrities.

Following his dance during Icons Week recently, Shirley acknowledged Pete's performance had "quite a lot of mistakes" but still scored him a six.

Furious Strictly fans blast judge Craig Revel Horwood as he shocks crowd with bizarre comment

One viewer at the time remarked: "WTF is this thing with overmarking him every single f***** week."

Shirley has hit back at criticism from fans and insisted she's got no plans to leave the show.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: "You know, I’m not going anywhere as long as the BBC would like to have me.”

Shirley added firmly: “I judge without fear or favour.

“I’m just someone who sits in that chair as head judge to stay in my lane and judge the dancing — legs, feet, body co-ordination, synchronisation and chemistry between the leader and the follower."
