McFly’s Danny Jones reveals real reason he signed up for I’m A Celeb – and it’s NOT the money
MCFLY’s Danny Jones has revealed the sweet reason he’s agreed to sign up to I’m A Celebrity.
The singer has jetted off to Australia to spend three weeks in the famed ITV jungle, facing nasty critters and bushtucker trials in order to be crowned champion.
Ahead of his debut on the show, Danny admitted it was a “bucket list thing” for him to do.
However, he added there’s a more important reason for him agreeing to do it - his six-year-old son, Cooper.
“I’ve always learned so much more from pushing myself out of my comfort zone,” he said.
“For me it’s learning about myself as well. And showing my little boy that it’s ok to be scared - it’s do it and conquer it.”

Danny’s time on the series could potentially see him cap off a winning year - winning two of the biggest competition shows on ITV across 2024.
In February, he was crowned champion of The Masked Singer, after making it through the show as Piranha undetected.
Last month, he and McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher joined forces to be The Voice UK’s first ever joint co-mentors, winning the series with rising star, Ava.
Now he’s hoping to continue the streak by following in the footsteps of another bandmate, Dougie Poynter, who was crowned King Of The Jungle on I’m A Celebrity 2011.

Giovanna Fletcher, Tom's wife, also took home the crown in 2020.
“I’ve had my fair share of winnings recently. The treble would be amazing - from The Masked Singer and The Voice to I’m A Celebrity.
“But for me, it’s all about going in there and just having a good time, enjoying it.
"I’m going into a very unknown, vulnerable space that I’ve never been in before and I don’t know what it’s going to be like.”
“I’ll do my very best. It’s not in my hands,” he added. “I just want people to see me and get me and understand me.”
