The younger Chuckle Brother, famed for the catchphrase “To me, to you” in the hit BBC sitcom ChuckleVision, was also seen in behind-the-scenes snaps in a bomber jacket as the criminal tough guy.

The gangster film is set to released next year.

It will follow a low-level drug dealer as he tries to rise through the ranks of the London underworld.

Paul's character, known as The Jackal, is a hit man also embroiled in the drug scene.

Director Peter Hirst said: “It’s heavy, it’s violent. It’s a very different side of Mr Chuckle.”

Peter revealed he created the role with the comic - whose real name is Paul Elliott - in mind.

When the filmmaker contacted Paul on social media, he “jumped at the chance” and told Peter to send him a script.

Peter told The Sun: “It was actually pretty easy to convince him to do it.

“I was writing it in with him in mind. I saw him on the TV and just when he smiled, I thought there was a glimpse of a dark side that has never been explored.

“As soon as I reached out he was very keen. He’s been a joy to work with and actually been really good at a very different role.

Peter, also an actor himself, will play a character named Luther.

He has previously appeared in the 2024 film Ship of the Damned and 2019 TV series Brassic.

Paul, from Rotherham, South Yorks, made his name with late brother Barry, who died of bone cancer aged 73 in 2018.

Paul has since tried his hand as a DJ and had stints on reality TV.

This year, The Sun even reported that he was in the running for ITV's Celebrity Big Brother.
