Pamela Anderson transforms into broken Las Vegas showgirl for stunning new film – as fans predict Oscar nomination
PAMELA Anderson has left fans stunned with her new role as a hard done by Vegas showgirl in the trailer for an upcoming feature film.
The actress has often been typecast as a beautiful blonde following her famous role in Baywatch, but she is ready for a new era.
Pamela is playing the lead role in The Last Showgirl, which is directed by a member of the prominent filmmaking family - Gia, the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, and niece of Sofia.
A trailer was released for the flick today, and it is already garnering Oscars buzz from viewers.
At the start of the clip Pamela's character Shelly can be seen quivering with emotion as she takes to the stage as a dancer.
Although she looks dazzling in her sequined finery, it is clear there is more going on beneath the surface as Shelly's eyes fill with tears.

A voice over is then played across vignettes of Shelly's life on and off stage.
Pamela can be heard musing: "Las Vegas used to treat us like movie stars, the costumes the sets, we were ambassadors for style and grace, the Las Vegas showgirl, iconic American showgirl.
"Feeling seen, feeling beautiful, that is powerful and I can't imagine my life without it.
"Doing a job that you don't really love, that's hard."
Fans have already been impressed by Coppola's gorgeous cinematography, and Pamela's emotional portrayal of Shelly.
One film critic gushed that this is the 'best role' Pamela has ever had, adding: "Like Shelley, Anderson hasn’t been taken seriously as an actress or in her personal life, and here, she gets to prove decades of her critics wrong."
Another agreed, adding: " Pamela Anderson proves she has serious chops and it’s exciting to see where her career goes with the cultural reevaluation she’s getting."
Meanwhile fans speculated that the actress could win Oscars for this performance.
One took to social media, confidently stating: "Queen Pamela Anderson is definitely getting an Oscar nomination in January for best actress for The Last Showgirl."
Another gushed: "Pamela Anderson the beautiful woman that you are… I can’t wait to see her win so many awards for this performance."
