A third said: "An English Breaking Bad?"

Audience viewers on Rotten Tomatoes gives Temple a perfect score and the majority of critics love it too.

One viewer said: "Spellbound by the storyline, and by Mark Strong’s utterly brilliant portrayal of a upper-middle class psychopath with good intentions."

Alistair McKay from the London Evening Standard declared: "It feels, at times, like early Tarantino, with dodgy coppers and incompetent criminals, as Strong holds the thing together with his glower."

The Times' Camilla Long agreed: "Temple is a clever little piece of programming."

However, Joel Keller from the Decider didn't enjoy the show and said: "The show isn't interesting enough to get past its glaring flaws."
