Wheel of Fortune contestant Will Jordan roasted for giving the ‘dumbest’ yet ‘most hysterical’ wrong answer ever
WHEEL of Fortune contestant Will Jordan was roasted for giving the "dumbest" yet "most hysterical" wrong answer ever on the popular game show.
Will, a police officer from Wethersfield, Connecticut, seemed to have the puzzle all but solved with just a few letters missing on a special Veteran's Day episode.
But he took a hilariously wrong turn.
Will asked host Ryan Seacrest if he could buy a U, and he was given three.
He then made a guess.
"I'd like to solve the puzzle," Will said.
He continued: "Treat yourself a round of sausage."
The audience went quiet, clearly baffled.
Ryan said: "No. I'm sorry, that's not it.
Confident fellow contestant Kitina chimed in immediately.
"I'd like to solve," she said.
She then gave the correct answer, which was: "Give yourself a round of applause."
"Yeah, that's it!" Ryan exclaimed.
"Although, Will, I kind of like yours better.
"That sounds better than just clapping right now."
Will finished the game in third place, with $8,000.
He later talked to social media correspondent Maggie Sajak, the daughter of former host Pat.
“I tell you, when the lights are on and the stars, Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White, I just went blank,” he explained.
“If your dad, in retirement, is watching the show, maybe cracks a beer and has a laugh, it’ll be worth it.”
Wheel of Fortune's big changes
The game show has undergone a major transformation now that Ryan Seacrest has taken over hosting duties for Pat Sajak.
-Ryan and Vanna White now host on a brand-new set, featuring a blue-toned stage, a green screen and art-deco wheel design.
-Ryan and Vanna make their big entrance from behind new sliding, brightly lit doors.
-Vanna turns - or now, touches - a modern, digital puzzle board controlled by lasers.
-Ryan brings a new hosting style, and has ditched Pat's signature cue cards.
-The prizes have also been upgraded, and now include tickets to NFL games, and tickets to A-list concerts.
FANS SOUND OFF
Fans watching at home couldn't believe their screens.
One confessed on Reddit: "We laughed, we cried, we bled a little from our eyes."
Another added: "I've never seen anything like it. My jaw is still on the floor."
"That was hysterical," a third chimed in.
A fourth wrote: "I think that was the dumbest guess ever."
