Clarkson's Farm follows the exploits of former Top Gear presenter and Sun Columnist Jeremy Clarkson and his staff.

But Gerald, who became one of the stars of the show set on Diddly Squat Farm, is about to start a new project as he teams up with Old Gold Racing to launch a racehorse syndicate to highlight Prostate Cancer UK.

Now cancer-free, Gerald has teamed up as the poster child for the charity and Old Gold Racing, which has launched affordable racehorse ownership.

The racehorse is called “The Mullet” - just like the star's famous hair do - and will be trained by Charlie Longsdon in the Cotswolds.

The news comes as the fourth series of Clarkson's Farm is set to be screened next year and work has already started on a fifth.

"It was a shock, to find out I had cancer," said Gerald, "but everyone has supported me. The charity were great, I made it through and am now cancer-free.

“I wanted to do something for a good cause.

"This felt like a good thing to do. I’m really excited about what’s ahead with The Mullet," he added.

The star revealed a touching family connection and that he had known Charlie and Sophie for years. He added that he met Old Gold Racing people, who set up the syndicate, through Jeremy.

Charlie Longsdon added: “Having known Gerald a long time, it’s great to have him on board with our team!

"Sophie has known Gerald all her life as he used to work for her father, and so that’s the main reason why The Mullet has come about!

"The Mullet is a horse who is eager to please, loves to learn, and has an exciting future.

“Prostate cancer is a cause close to Gerald’s heart and it’s brilliant to be raising money for this great charity, while hopefully having a lot of fun along the way.”

Ed Seyfried, Chief Executive of Old Gold Racing, explains: “We are honoured to be powering Gerald’s horse racing syndicate.

"Everyone in every walk of life has had their life touched by cancer in one way or another, and so we’re proud to be partnering with Prostate Cancer UK to set up this syndicate.
