Kim Woodburn slams ITV bosses for recruiting reality stars as presenters raging ‘They’re all wannabes and work cheap’

She thinks the industry is suffering and needs to clean up their act

KIM Woodburn has slammed ITV and BBC bosses for recruiting reality stars as presenters.

A number of names have worked in the business on-screen, and the former Celebrity Big Brother star is not happy about it.

Fans were left cringing in 2017 when former Towie star Ferne McCann, 34, got flustered in one of her live segments as a roving reporter on This Morning.

Meanwhile, Josh Denzel, 33, was slammed by viewers when he battled through nerves with Christine Lampard on Lorraine in 2018.

The likes of Dani Dyer, Zara McDermott, Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins have also presented a number of high-profile TV projects.

Made In Chelsea and I'm A Celebrity star Sam Thompson, 32, received widespread backlash for a disastrous interview with Timothée Chalamet at the press junket of Dune: Part Two.

However, Kim, 88, has slammed TV bosses for hiring these 'wannabe' presenters.

The TV star is best known as the face of a number of cleaning shows, including How Clean Is Your House? with Aggie MacKenzie, 69.

She thinks that many reality stars may talk the talk, but they cannot actually "hold the shows."

In an exclusive interview hosted by , Kim fumed to The Sun Online: "They only have wannabes if they give them jobs.

"Some of the gorgeous girls, they are gorgeous, but they are giving shows to the people who can't hold the shows."

She added: "They don't suit doing those shows."

Another star to feature is Montana Brown, 29, who first presented a fashion segment on This Morning with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

She has since appeared on the flagship ITV sofa and on location on a number of occasions alongside Kem Cetinay, 28.

Kim also thinks the industry has changed through the years as these new TV personalities could be 'desperate' to get on-screen.

She accused bosses of hiring the former Love Island stars for less money, instead of paying for experience and prestige.

They are giving shows to the people who can't hold the shows.

"If you come on as part of a reality show, girl or a boy, and they are able to do a show, and they think [they're] good," she explained to The Sun Online.

"Unfortunately, not many of them are. But they work cheap.

"They work much cheaper than someone that's well known would work. Some carry it off, many don't."

She added: "You think, ‘why have you put them on there?’ Bless them, they're not going to say no, are they? They're not suited.

Olivia Attwood's Career History

From Monster grid girl and Love Island star to daytime telly panellist and respected documentary maker, Olivia Attwood has made a huge career pivot in recent years...

Olivia first started as a Monster grid girl at motorsport events in 2012 when she was 19-years-old, and did it right up until she went into Love Island in 2017.

After placing third in the reality show with then-boyfriend Chris Hughes, she starred in their own spin-off series, Chris & Olivia: Crackin' On, in 2018.

Later that year, she appeared on Celebs Go Dating and then joined the cast of The Only Way Is Essex in 2019, where she had a number of fiery on-screen rows.

In 2020, the reality TV veteran began starring in her own reality series on ITVBe titled Olivia Meets Her Match, which followed her wedding preparations with footballer Bradley Dack.

In 2021, the tide started to turn.

Olivia made appearances on household shows Lorraine, Tipping Point: Lucky Stars and Loose Women.

Then, in 2022, ITV commissioned her for her first ever documentary series.

She presented Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich, which explored women selling sexual content online.

In June 2023, ITV commissioned Olivia Marries Her Match and made her a regular guest panellist on Loose Women.

Her most recent docu-series, Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection, aired in January this year where she sensitively explored the cosmetic industry.

"Television companies get used to this. Spend out the money on somebody. And very few of them are really good at what they do."

However, there is one former Love Island star who has hit it big on TV that Kim rates.

Olivia Attwood, 33, impressed viewers after she joined Loose Women as a panelist in 2023.

She's also presented various factual series that explored topics such as facial cosmetic procedures and online sexual content creators for ITV.

The former reality TV personality also hosts her own dating show, Olivia Attwood's Bad Boyfriends.

It turns out, Kim rates her presenting skills quite highly as she lavished praise for the fellow I'm A Celebrity star.

She remarked: "I mean, Olivia Attwood on those shows, what she does is excellent. She's excellent."
