Emmerdale’s Olivia Bromley admits Dawn character ‘depresses her’ as she issues list of major shake-up demands to bosses
The actress teased 'explosive' scenes as her relationship could be headed for trouble
EMMERDALE’S Olivia Bromley made a plea to soap bosses as she admitted she “hates” some parts of playing Dawn.
The actress, known for her role as Dawn Fletcher on the ITV soap, recently joked about a part of the character that she isn’t particularly fond of.
Olivia Bromley joined Emmerdale back in 2018 and has had some major storylines including her battle with drug addiction and being homeless.
However, she has recently reflected on her time playing Dawn, and has joked about the side of her that she really hates.
In an interview with , Olivia said: “I hate Dawn’s wardrobe with a passion. It depresses me – I can’t lie.
“I wish she could be as glamorous as Kim Tate (Claire King). Unfortunately, I’m saddled with drab jumpers.
“But it says a lot about her – she’s not thinking about how she looks. There used to be this big fluffy black coat.
“But it’s horrible. She can’t wear that any more. I would love them to put some make-up on me.”
Olivia also added her wish for Dawn to do some more comedy, after her run of some very serious storylines.
She said: “I’ve always thought it would be nice for Dawn to display a different side of herself, which could be shown by working behind the bar, or doing some more comedy.
“Because that is a totally different thing to play, where you could see her just commenting on the action. But she’d probably be the most grumpy barmaid!”
Dawn is currently caught up in a dramatic storyline, involving her husband Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) secret involvement in an illegal boxing ring.
This storyline has created tension between the couple, leaving fans questioning the future of their marriage.
As Billy’s risky choices surface, it’s becoming clear that their relationship could be headed for trouble.
Olivia teased: “They have to overcome some of the biggest challenges that any couple would ever face, and that’s on top of a very sick child.
“There’s some huge Home Farm drama coming. The dynamics are explosive.”
