EAMONN Holmes says he has a lot to be grateful for after a tough year.
The TV presenter, 64, who announced his split from wife Ruth Langsford in May, looked smitten with Katie Alexander at an awards ceremony.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the Belfast-born star, who has used a wheelchair and struggled with his health, said: “It’s been a tough year and I’ll be glad to see the back of it.
“But there are lots of things to be grateful for and I hope that my health improves next year.”
Eamonn took selfies with therapist Katie, who was dressed in a black gown, as he hosted the Irish Post Awards in London on Thursday.
An onlooker said: “Katie certainly seems to be able to put a smile back on Eamonn’s face.

"They seem genuinely besotted with each other.
“It was a big night for Eamonn and she wanted to support him.”
Eamonn's 14-year marriage to Ruth collapsed after she found messages between him and another woman on a laptop.
Ruth, 64, now wants a divorce and has hired £400-an-hour lawyer Catherine Costley.

Ruth and Eamonn won millions of fans presenting ITV’s This Morning together between 2006 and 2021.
The estranged couple have a £3.5million five-bedroom home in Weybridge, Surrey, where Ruth has remained.
Eamonn has an apartment in South West London.
Meanwhile, Ruth has been changing her style.
A pal said: “Ruth is looking better than ever. She loves fashion and has been showing off blonder locks lately.
“She is trying to be as positive as possible about the future, despite the heartbreak and shock of the split and Eamonn moving on so quickly with a younger woman.”
