The Bill legend in soap comeback 18 years after ITV show’s final episode – and she’ll be back on screen in DAYS
A SOAP icon is set to return to the small screen very soon to mark the final episode of Doctors.
The actress, 72, played a leading role as Sgt June Ackland in a thousand episodes of ITV's The Bill.
TV star Trudie Goodwin was a fan favourite from 1983 to 2007 - and is making her comeback imminently for the concluding episodes of the BBC drama.
The last ever offering of the much-loved soap airs on Thursday 14 November called One Day Like This.
The 80s and 90s household name is playing a character called Sylvie Mackie alongside EastEnders stage and screen actor Timothy West.
A teaser for the upcoming episode reads: "Rob gets worried when Ruhma lands herself in hot water, Graham has become a partner and all is lost, while Scarlett’s in no mood to celebrate her birthday."

The Sun Hill police department character told This Morning in 2020: "I really didn't [want it to go].
"I wasn't there right at the end, I'd left before the end.
"I was so disappointed it finished. I thought there was no reason really why it should have, and that it could have gone on a great deal longer.
"I think it should still be on now."

She went on to star in Heartbeat, Casualty and ITV’s Emmerdale in the early 2000s and 2010s, playing Georgia, the mother of Jai (Chris Bisson).
Her character returned to screens in 2023 but with EastEnders actress Lin Blakley (Pam Coker).
Trudie is a mother-of-two with one very famous daughter - Elly Jackson - who is lead singer of award-winning electro pop band La Roux.
Trudie previously said about her famous offspring: “It’s very strange. She’s a lot more famous than I am because she is known worldwide.
“We had no expectations of them performing. But both of my daughters are musicians and songwriters.
"Music has always been a massive part of their life, not through me but through my husband. He is an actor but also an extremely good musician."
She is the longest-serving member of The Bill.
