SPOTTED QUIP

GBBO’s rudest EVER episode as Alison Hammond and bakers turn the air blue every 35 seconds

Noel Fielding was forced to remind bakers it was a "family show"

THE Great British Bake Off is no stranger to an innuendo or two - but tonight the series turned the air blue with a very filthy segment.

It meant that there was an innuendo every put in every 35 seconds.

The bakers were left in fits of giggles as hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond revealed that the technical challenge tasked them with making steamed dessert spotted dick.

The technical challenge, in the middle of the Channel 4 show, tasks the bakers with trying their hand at a recipe with only a handful of the instructions.

For GBBO's dessert week episode, it was revealed the pud of choice was a caramel-topped spotted dick, a traditional British dish packed with dried fruits.

But just moments into the challenge, Alison was ready with the first of more than a dozen innuendos, that continued throughout the nine-minute long segment.

"You have two and a half hours to get your dicks ready”, she quipped, forcing Noel to remind the group that they needed to be on their best behaviour, as the Channel 4 series is still a “family show”.

Looking over the recipe, one baker then reacted: “I’ve never seen a spotted dick, I’ve never tried it,” prompting another to chime in: “My boyfriend told me that spotted dick is very nice.”

A third added: "I know what spotted dick is, but it's something that I would make a pass on."

“I need a finger, that’s what I have a husband for, it’s his only use,” another joked as they tied up the suet pudding with a piece of string.

The challenge proved itself a disaster for Sumayah, who was reminded by her co-stars “never to cry over dick” after her dessert turned out to be under baked.

She was later voted off the show.

Sumayah said of her exit: “After such a rough week, it wasn’t a surprise - I had a good cry. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to make it any further, but it was all so worth it.”

The Great British Bake Off continues Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
