Who is Tommy’s dad in EastEnders? Moon family tree explained
TROUBLED teen Tommy Moon has been involved in some shocking storylines on EastEnders.
Despite calling Alfie Moon "dad", he is not his real father. Here we take a look at the life of the person who is his birth dad.
Born on December 30, 2010, Thomas "Tommy" Moon is Kat Slater's son on EastEnders.
The character has been played by four different actors and, since 2021, Sonny Kendall has had the role.
Tommy's father is Michael Moon - played by actor Steve John Shepherd - who is Kat's ex-husband Alfie Moon's second cousin once removed.
Tommy was conceived when his mum had an affair with Michael while her husband was in jail.

When the child's real father wanted nothing to do with him, Alfie adopted him and has raised him as his own.
Baby swap
Shortly after his birth, Ronnie Mitchell snatched Tommy.
It came after she discovered her own son James had died of sudden infant death syndrome.
In a moment of madness, she swapped her baby for Tommy, leaving Alfie and Kat to believe their son had passed away.

Michael's murder
Michael later married Janine Butcher and together they had a daughter called Scarlett.
When they split up, he plotted to kill her so that he could get custody of their child.
Infatuated with Michael, Alice Branning, who was Scarlett’s nanny, agreed to murder Janine for him.
When she found out about the plot against her, a huge row broke out, with Michael attempting to strangle Janine.
Seeing what was happening Alice stabbed him in the back, and when the police arrived Janine continued to repeatedly stab him.
Despite Janine blaming Alice, no one was found guilty of his murder.
Tommy finding out about his dad
In 2021, Kat owned up to Tommy that Alfie wasn't his real dad.

It came about after Janine moved back to Albert Square with her daughter Scarlett, Tommy's half-sister.
Kat feared her son would find out he had a half-sister so she confessed all.
