"Bring the show back!!!!!!" begged another.

A fourth added: "We need the show back on a Saturday night!"

The dating show, which ran on ITV on Saturday nights, saw a group of women all lined up with light up stands waiting for a potential male date to come down the lift.

As the man would tell them about his life and what he looked for in a woman, the girls could then keep their light on if they liked what they saw or switch it off to say they're not interested.

The man would eventually choose his date from the final two women, before they were whisked away to the fictional island of 'Fernando's' for a date.

The show first aired in January 2010, but was confirmed to have been axed after eleven seasons in 2020. It was thought the show had been cancelled after ratings started to dip whilst it aired on a Saturday night.

At the time, an ITV spokesperson told The Sun: "We’ve decided to say goodbye to Take Me Out.

"ITV and Paddy have done all the specials you can eke out of a dating show, so it’s been decided it’s time for it to go.

"As with many shows, ratings have slid a bit in recent years. But it will go down as a big success — it’s had more weddings than Blind Date."
