Line of Duty stars attended ‘summit’ to hammer out deal for 7th series of blockbuster cop drama
Actors have struggled to commit to a new season due to being so busy
STARS of Line of Duty have attended a summit to try to hammer out a deal for a seventh series of the police thriller.
Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar met show creator Jed Mercurio last week.

The actors, who starred as DC Kate Fleming, DS Steve Arnott and Supt Ted Hastings, have so far struggled to commit to another season because they are all busy.
An insider said: “Jed is close with Vicky, Martin and Adrian and they often meet for dinner — this time it was different.
“A topic of conversation was how they could align their schedules in 2025 to ensure Line of Duty 7 happens. The ambition is filming could start next year, with it on screens by early 2026.”
The Sun revealed two years ago how the team wanted to make a seventh series of the BBC hit after the final season in 2021 failed to satisfy fans.

As a result of the success of Line of Duty all three actors have been in high demand.
Martin, 40, has made two series of thriller The Rig and has just finished psychological drama, Fear.
Adrian, 66, has wrapped stage show Kiss Me Kate in London, and Vicky, 41, made a string of dramas, including thriller Trigger Point.
She said earlier this year: “We’ve all said we love the show and we would want to go again.”
