Idris will discuss solutions to youth violence with monarch Charles, plus meet young offenders, bereaved families and cops.

Reflecting on growing up in a “tough” part of London, Idris said: “Perpetrators are getting younger, fear is spreading.

“I hope our documentary goes some way towards getting everyone to engage with one of the biggest challenges of our time.”

In fact, working with a bunch of hilarious youngsters on the Channel 4 spin-off show means they are more worried than ever about being booted out to make way for the funnier newcomers.

Rose joked: “The comedians and entertainers are doing their best on the regular series, but they’re fundamentally flawed, creaking adults long past their time compared to the fresh brains of kids coming along.

“I reckon if we put Lee Mack on an episode of Junior Taskmaster, he’d be destroyed.

“It’s like, we’re on borrowed time now. We don’t need them coming in being much more talented and funny.”

Despite opportunities to cast famous kids as part of the family-friendly show, the duo confirmed that the series – which airs at 8pm on November 8 – will just feature everyday youngsters.

Mike added: “Nobody has been plucked off a West End stage – none of these children have had this experience and if any of them have secretly been fathered by Tom Cruise, someone buried that deep.”
