It has now been revealed that the new season will kick off with former Blue Peter presenter Anthea Turner being pitted against comedian Darren Harriott.

The pair will be joined by antiques experts Philip Serrell and Ishy Khan as they compete to see who can find the best bargains and turn the biggest profit at auction.

The first episode will see Anthea bagging a bizarre collection of items, including a mid-century dressmaker’s mannequin, Tiffany grape scissors, and a Soviet air raid siren.

Meanwhile, Darren and his partner Ishy opt for some equally unique finds - such as toy soldiers, a Japanese pagoda-style lantern, and a hat stretcher.

As the series progresses, a mix of familiar reality stars and well known soap actors will also hit the road.

Viewers will be excited to see appearances from The Traitors winner Harry Clark and his co-star Paul Gorton, as well as Emmerdale actors Matthew Wolfenden and Roxy Shahidi.

They will be joined by athlete Sally Gunnell, former MP John Bercow, radio presenters Dev Griffin and Nihal Arthanayake, actors Leslie Ash and Phil Daniels, and TV personalities like Charlotte Crosby and Louie Spence.

Speaking about the upcoming series, BBC Commissioning Editor Muslim Alim said: "It’s great to have Celebrity Antiques Road Trip back on BBC Two this autumn with another exciting list of celebrity duos and a plethora of weird and wonderful items that will have you guessing till the last minute on their profit potential."

In a previous episode of the celebrity series, Danny Dyer was embarrassed by an emporium shop owner having no idea who he was.

He tried to impress the woman by introducing himself, expecting that she would recognise him from EastEnders.

However, much to his shame, she admitted she watches Coronation Street instead and seemed to have no clue that Danny was an actor.

Viewers were left in hysterics as Danny failed to impress the Essex shop owner.
