On previous episodes of Coronation Street, she has been struggling with a secret drug addiction.

The adolescent has been addicted to vaping and recently resorted to stealing vapes from the corner shop.

She appears cocky at the beginning of the episode as she wanted a "chill day" at home.

After Ruby goes to school, Tyrone and Fiz announce that her headteacher Mrs Crawshaw (Carla Mendonça) will conduct a home visit.

Hope appears to be fuming as she did not want to attend, but her parents insisted.

Tyrone then demands that she empties her pockets to see if she is secretly hiding any vapes.

She once again fumes as she thinks her parents do not trust her, although Tyrone emphasises that trust needs to be "earned".

Later, her teacher is satisfied with her punishment and she says that Hope could return to school shortly after, although she looks less than pleased.

However, Tyrone comes back to the cafe and reveals that fire inspector told him that the fire was started from a vape.
