Amelia Spencer, who Tom has been using as his girlfriend in recent weeks, managed to lure the pair back together after pretending that she was going to support Belle in her bid to shop Tom to the police.

Having convinced everyone she wanted to speak to Belle on her own, it ensured that Amelia could send Tom over to Wishing Well knowing that Belle was all alone.

Belle was left shaken to her core as she clapped eyes on Tom whose menacing and manipulative ways were clear to see.

He instantly began goading Belle once more as it became apparent she was once again terrified and fearing for her life under his control.

As Belle attempted to confront him, Tom aggressively grabbed her as he shouted at her for "telling lies".

He then brutally assaulted her as he threw defenceless Belle to the ground as he continually hit her.

She was next seen covered in blood and cowering after the awful incident.

Tom later made her a drink and told her that her injuries 'were not bad' before she finally began to take her revenge.

As Tom had his back turned to her, Belle raced to get the Dingle shotgun out of the cupboard as she threatened Tom with it.

Now, fearing for his life, Tom raced his hands in the air as Belle demanded he unlocked the door so that she could make her great escape.

Belle then fled the house as she raced through the field near her home clutching the gun.

Cunning Tom soon followed her out of the house as he began a game of cat and mouse chase in order for him to get Belle again.

After managing to escape to an outhouse, Belle could be seen hiding and fearing for her life as she clutched the gun.

Tom could be heard shouting: "Come on Belle, we need to sort things!"

He then spotted her lurking through an open window and as she realised she had been caught, she soon began to block the door as best she could in order to stop Tom from entering.

Tom then rattled at the door as he begged Belle to let him in before he furiously shouted: "Let me in Belle! Oh come on you stupid b***h and open this door!"

In a scene that resembled The Shining, Tom then began to tear the door down by ploughing an axe into it with Belle stood sharply to the side.

She let out a panicking wail as she screamed in fear at what Tom was about to do.

As Tom managed to worm his way into the house, Belle placed the gun up at him and held it to his chest.

He then goaded with her again as he dared her to shoot him but as Belle attempted to fire off the gun, the safety gap was still on which caused Tom to wrestle the gun off her.

Laughing at her, Tom said: "Can you ever get anything right?

"It is loaded and the safety is off now.

Darkest soap storylines

Over the years the likes of EastEndersEmmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock...

  • EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) - Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca’s adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police.
  • Emmerdale: Holly's drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) - In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale's first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose.
  • Hollyoaks: Luke's rape (2000) - Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap’s first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs - who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance.
  • Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) - Just a mere mention of ‘Richard Hillman’ is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it’s not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn’t.
  • He then pretended to let the gun go off at her as he screamed "bang" in her face.

As Tom continued walking around the barn and talking in riddles, in a flash, Belle stabbed him in the back causing him to fall on the floor.

Belle had use the axe Tom had brought with him to stab him which left him seemingly dying on the floor.
