Joanna was in attendance in order to cheer on Wynne Evans as he revealed their surprise celebrity friendship.

She shared a snap of herself all glammed up alongside her husband James Thornton as they headed off to watch the GoCompare advert star.

Joanna donned a simple pink dress whilst James looked sharp and smart in a suit with a loosely-buttoned white shirt for the evening.

The actress and presenter captioned the snap: “Off to Strictly to support @wynneevans.”

As Wynne finally took to the floor on the programme, Joanna could be seen beaming as she cheered him on as he received his feedback from the judges.

His routine impressed as he ended up on the top half of the leaderboard despite going last during the opening night.

Joanna and Wynne became pals after being picked by the BBC to host the TV series, Wynne Evans and Joanna Page: Lost at Sea.

The show followed the pair as they explored their native Welsh coastline, discovering a variety of different stories, recipes and people from the history of Wales.

One moment from last night’s Strictly that is likely to have left Joanna laughing was when the studio descended into chaos as Wynne called out Paul Merson live on air.

Following Paul’s performance to Vindaloo with Karen Hauer, he headed upstairs to chat to Claudia Winkleman about the routine and to get his scores from the judges.

However, mid-way through the chat, the pair were interrupted by co-star, opera singer Wynne.

He called Paul out live for repeatedly addressing him as Gwyn during their time spent sharing a dressing room with one another.

Shooting a subtle dig, he said: “Can i just congratulate Karen, right?

“Because I’ve been sharing a dressing with Mers for a fortnight, and he still thinks my name is Gwyn, so how she taught him anything is beyond me.”

The studio descended into chaos as they all burst out laughing at Wynne’s unexpected outburst.

Karen appeared to find the remark that funny that she buckled down to her knees as she was seemingly left unable to compose herself after the quip.

Claudia then remarked to Wynne “we love you” as she continued on with the show after the moment.
