Coronation Street police launch search for villain Joel Deering’s body in shock twist
The lawyer's grooming ways have recently been brought to light
AS THE net closes in on abusive Joel Deering, it seems he may have taken matters into his own hands by deciding to end his life rather than face the law.
Detective Lisa Swain has been investigating the twisted lawyer ever since she found out about him grooming Lauren Bolton.

Joel became violent with the teenage girl when she tried to leave him, before realising that she was pregnant with his baby.
He then started paying for her rent to keep her hidden away and make sure no one found out about his predatory relationship with her.
But Lauren didn't realise he was conspiring to slip her abortion pills in the hopes that she would miscarry.
After his fiance Dee-Dee finally discovered what he had been up to, she was horrified and broke off their engagement.

Joel has been busy trying to win her back ahead of what was meant to be their wedding day.
He also seemed to be planning something as he unexpectedly transferred Lauren £5k with no explanation.
The frightened teen has been tracking his movements since he caused her to go into labour prematurely and noticed him spending long periods of time in a field and an industrial park.
This made her and Dee-Dee suspicious that he was plotting further criminal activity.

But in a shocking turn of events, upcoming episodes will see cops convinced that Joel is dead.
Dee-Dee receives a surprising voicemail from her ex fiance and the troubled woman decides to play it to DS Lisa.
Dee-Dee plays Joel at his own game
The detective worries the message is a suicide note, and after tracking Joel's phone, police are sent out to check on him.
When they get to the location, they discover his phone was last used on a bridge, and all they find there is his parked car and a note on the dashboard.
After that cops are warned that they are now looking for a body.
Dee-Dee attempts to do some digging of her own and finds out that Joel has taken all the money the pair spent on deposits for their wedding venue and honeymoon.
She becomes suspicious that Joel has simply faked his disappearance and confronts Joel's dad with her theory that he is on the run.
DS Lisa is forced to intervene and breaks the news that Joel is most likely dead.
