NETFLIX fans have been left furious by an acclaimed TV series being taken off the streamer.

Romantic comedy-drama Jane the Virgin received critical acclaim, including a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fans have been watching its five seasons on Netflix - but the show will be soon be removed.

Taking to X, one wrote: "Cannot believe Netflix is taking off Jane the Virgin this is outrageous."

Another added: "@netflix we’re beefing why would you get rid of Jane the virgin."

While a third shared: "I was so ready to rewatch Jane the Virgin and now it’s leaving Netflix."

Jane the Virgin originally aired on The CW from 2014 to 2019.

The show's premise follows Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez).

She starts off as a 23-year-old religious Latina virgin - who falls pregnant after being artificially inseminated by mistake.

Later on, Jane gives birth to a boy, Mateo Gloriano Rogelio Solano Villanueva.

Netflix star Jenna Ortega, known for her role as Wednesday Adams in Wednesday, appears as a young version of Jane.

Meanwhile, the storyline also explores her evolving dynamic with Rafael (Justin Baldoni), Mateo's biological father.

Earlier this year, a major health update in a social media post.

Taking to Instagram, the actor and director shared  of himself cuddling with his two children, Maxwell Roland-Samuel, four, and daughter Maiya Grace, six, as he lay in a  bed.

He also posted a selfie with his wife, actress Emily Baldoni.

Justin penned the caption: "Nothing like an infection and a week at the hospital to put everything into perspective.

"God is so good. On the mend and feeling grateful.

"Thank you to the incredible team of doctors and nurses at St. John’s.
