Proud gran Lorraine Kelly shares joy with sweet message after daughter Rosie gives birth to first child

LORRAINE Kelly's has shared her joy after her daughter announced she's given birth to her first child.

Rosie Kelly-Smith and her fiancé Steve White announced today their daughter, Billie Kelly Smith-White, was born on August 29th.

Rosie posted a photograph announcing the arrival on Instagram, with the tiny tot grabbing hold of her mum's index finger.

The photograph was quickly shared by daytime TV host Lorraine, who shared her delight at becoming a grandmother for the first time.

"I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you!" Lorraine wrote.

"Baby Billie is an angel and I’m so proud of [Rosie] and [Steve] who will be the best parents.

"I’m delighted to be Granny Smith and can’t wait to go on adventures. #love#joy#happiness#family"

Lorraine's TV pals quickly flocked to the comments to share their congratulations.

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid wrote: "Huge huge love to you all and especially to tiny precious Baby Billie."

"Awww the happiest days yet!!! So delighted for you all" wrote Ranvir Singh, while Kate Garraway added: "Wonderful wonderful news!!!!"

Denise Welch said: "Wonderful news. Being grandparents has changed our lives xx"

Ruth Langsford wrote: "How WONDERFUL! 🎉 Enjoy every second of being Granny! 👶🏻"

While Michelle Visage added: "CONGRATS TO YOU ALL" and Judi Love added: "Congratulations you’re going to be the best Nanny ever xx Send love to you all ❤️"

Even Piers Morgan chipped in, telling the new grandma: "Many congrats to you all!"

The proud new mother Rosie had previously shared the photo of the baby, and wrote alongside the pic: "Baby Billie Kelly Smith-White is here 💕 29-08-2024

"It feels like she’s been here the whole time and we’re not quite sure what the point of anything was before.

"I’d heard how amazing midwives are but they are genuinely walking angels - she’s been welcomed into the world with so much love already."

Rosie had been keeping her followers fully up to date with her pregnancy throughout, even sharing a look at the baby's nursery just last week.

Taking to Instagram, Rosie shared a video of the neutral room which is already filled with children’s books, full toy boxes and baby clothes. 

Back in April, we reported how the Lorraine show host is set to become a gran for the first time after Rosie revealed she is expecting her first baby.

In another video, Rosie revealed she’d even laminated her birthing plan and had a hospital bag at the ready since the middle of August.
