It was revealed that former Top Gear presenter Jeremy, 64, bought the £1million pub in June, following on from the success of his TV show Clarkson's Farm.

The Farmer's Dog is located in a village called Asthall, near Burford in Oxfordshire.

Their official Instagram page, which boasts 140k followers, shared a video of Jeremy on the opening day.

In the clip the TV legend lists a number of things that he "doesn't know how to do" with regards to owning a pub.

Jeremy explained: "I don't know how to stop beer throbbing.

"I don't know how to make the extractor fans work in the kitchen.

"I don't know how to make sure if you've got table for four people, four people sit at it.

"I don't know any of that stuff."

As he took a sip from his pint, he added: "So all I can do is sit upstairs."

Many rushed to the comments section to share the love.

Meet the cast of Clarkson's Farm

Clarkson's Farm began streaming in 2021 and follows Jeremy Clarkson and his team managing Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds. Here's a 'who's who' of faces in the Clarkson's Farm cast.

  • Jeremy Clarkson: Presenter and journalist; also known for Top Gear, The Grand Tour and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
  • Lisa Hogan: A former actress and Jeremy's partner, who assists in the running of the farm shop.
  • Kaleb Cooper: A young farm worker from Chipping Norton, who forms a double act with Jeremy on-screen. He's later promoted to farm manager in series three.
  • Gerald Cooper: Specialist in the construction and maintenance of dry stone walls and the farm's "head of security". Of no relation to Kaleb.
  • Charlie Ireland: Nicknamed "Cheerful Charlie", a professional land agent who advises Jeremy on land management.

As well as the pub, there is a brand new farm shop at the site.

In the lead up to Friday's big day, they shared a number of posts on social media.

Earlier this week fans were over the moon when he revealed the new menu for the boozer.

The menu lists a variety of large plates including sausages of the day with mash, gammon steak with bubble and squeak, Lancashire hotpot, and steak pie with mash.

Vegetarians have the option of a vegetable and cheddar crumble.

There are plenty of bar snacks and desserts to pick from too.

One person gushed: "Proper English pub food. No fancy plates where nobody knows what’s in it. Brilliant. Best of luck with it - I’m sure it’ll be a success."

Another added: "That’s a proper pub menu."

A third shared: "Nice to see the carvery returning to the pub."

Earlier this month Clarkson’s Farm fans were left convinced that Jeremy named the new £1m pub after a ‘dogging’ discovery.

Jeremy previously left fans in hysterics after revealing a cheeky find he'd made on the pub's site.

The presenter shared to his 8.3million followers: "Tell me you've bought a pub on a dogging site without telling me you bought a pub on a dogging site," while holding up what appeared to be a pair of well-worn knickers.

After revealing the name, one fan said:  "Knew you'd get dog(ging) in the name somehow."

The pub, previously named The Windmill, went "under new ownership" on June 4th.

Jeremy is part-owner of the Cotswold brewer that produces his Hawkstone lager.

He is also the owner of Diddly Squat farm - and his girlfriend Lisa Horgan revealed it's getting a second shop.

In a recent Instagram video she said: "Can’t wait to get Diddly 2 open, not least as it will have legit t-shirts and the like.

"For its plucky soul and spirit, Diddly Squat Farm Shop will always remain jewel in the crown for me.

"But if I can open in time, this place will be fun too. Shall I call it Didders…? Please send suggestions!"
