News of Vera’s impending conclusion next year was met with sadness from fans who have followed the series since it first aired 13 years ago.

Over the years, Brenda’s portrayal of the straight-talking detective has made DCI Stanhope a favorite among crime fans.

As filming for the last series kicked off in late May, Brenda and her co-stars were spotted working in various North East locations, including Blyth, Gateshead, Hartlepool, South Shields, and Ashington.

Although the official air date for the 14th season has yet to be announced, Brenda already appears to be diving into her next project.
