AMAZON Prime series My Lady Jane has been axed after just one series and after six weeks since it first aired on the streaming platform.
The raunchy period drama depicting Lady Jane Grey and her husband Lord Guildford Dudley, is based loosely on the ill fated nine day queen from the Tudor era.
Yet the new series was brought bang up to date with a modern retelling as well as a supernatural twist, as well as a stellar soundtrack.
The Amazon series starring Emily Bader and Edward Bluemel is based on a series of Young Adult novels by Gemma Burgess.
The steamy on-screen chemistry between Jane and Guildford is what had viewers hooked, as their arranged marriage swiftly turned to love and romance.
Joining Bader and Bluemel was a star studded cast, including Rob Brydon, Dominic Cooper and Jim Broadbent.

The series aired on June 27, and initially reviewed positive reviews as well as winning over fans worldwide.
After it first aired, described it as 'joyously bananas' whilst called it 'one of the best shows of 2024.'
Yet even the celebrity cast wasn't enough to save the history series, with Amazon Prime confirming there won't be a follow up to the tale of Jane and Guildford.
Fans have not taken the news well that My Lady Jane will not be returning for series two.
