Charlotte, who boasts more social media followers than any other British TV personality, was left emotional at points in the MasterChef kitchen after producing food that one viewer deemed as ";restaurant quality".

However, the Charlotte In Sunderland star was left heartbroken after a number of inexcusable comments flooded a BBC social media post about the star's debut in the kitchen.

The BBC shared a montage of the star's successful first episode online in a viral clip titled: "Charlotte Crosby being iconic for 57 seconds."

She went on to be described as a legend in the post's caption by the broadcaster but disgruntled viewers were quick to have their say and horribly bash the star in the comments.

Amongst the deplorable comments, one troll insinuated the star did not deserve to be associated with the words such as "iconic" and "legend" in a rude post.

Hitting back against the trolls, Charlotte said on her story: "The BBC viewers are such a lovely bunch!

"I've never seen such evil comments, they really should be ashamed of themselves to be honest, and to just blatantly comment like totally shamelessly I'm in shock!

"How could you reallly be that wound up about someone just genuinely having so much fun on a tv show!
