THE Umbrella Academy star Robert Sheehan has opened about his 'gruelling' farewell to the hit Netflix series.
The star's final day on set included spending several hours being buried alive.
Irish actor Robert, 36, who plays Klaus Hargreeves discussed the experience with US outlet .
He said: "Last day on set was a gruelling day where I was buried alive over and over and over again.
"It was the most Promethean day I’ve had on the set of Umbrella Academy, because I was in and out of quite a snug coffin for about 14 hours."
The revelation comes as The Umbrella Academy wrapped up its run on Netflix, as the final eight episodes were released today (August 8).

It's not the first time Robert's been buried alive for one of his roles.
As Nathan Young on E4's science-fiction comedy drama Misfits, the character discovered he was immortal after waking up in a coffin.
In The Umbrella Academy, Klaus is one of seven adopted superhero siblings raised by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore).
Specifically, the character's ability allows him to communicate with the dead and make them corporeal temporarily.

A synopsis for the final batch of episodes reads: "Stripped of their powers, each is left to fend for themselves and find a new normal, with wildly varying degrees of success.
"Yet the trappings of their uncanny new world prove too hard to ignore for very long.
"Their father, Reginald, alive and well, has stepped out of the shadows and into the public eye, overseeing a powerful and nefarious business empire.
"A mysterious association known as The Keepers holds clandestine meetings believing the reality they’re living in is a lie, and a great reckoning is coming.
"As these strange new forces conspire around them, the Umbrella Academy must come together one last time and risk upsetting the shaky peace they’ve all endured so much to secure, to finally set things right."
In other work, Robert also portrayed Darren Treacy in crime drama Love/Hate.
Set in Dublin's criminal underworld, the acclaimed show aired for five series.
