EMMERDALE fans were left seriously distracted during a tense scene in last night’s episode.
Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and Ruby’s (Beth Cordingly) returned to the Emmerdale village to a stressful situation, but all viewers could focus on was what Caleb was eating for dinner.
Needing some time away together after Nicky’s (Lewis Cope) departure and Ethan’s (Emile John) sudden death following his hit-and-run, Caleb and Beth decided to take a trip to sunny Bali.
However, they found themselves even more stressed when they returned to the village this week.
Upon their return, Caleb was met with the devastating news about the fire at the dealership and was questioned by the police shortly afterward as they were concerned it had been an insurance scam.
Needed to debrief about it all, Caleb and Ruby met for dinner in the Woolpack. But fans totally toned out of their conversation, admitting they were completely distracted by the size of the chicken on Caleb’s plate.

While Ruby ate an uneventful salad, Caleb shocked fans by digging into a whole roast chicken dinner with chips on the side.
Shocked by the portion size, fans rushed to X, formerly Twitter, to comment.
“Is Caleb eating a whole chicken?” one fan queried.
While another asked: “Has Caleb got a whole chicken on that plate?”

Confused, a third added: “Why is Caleb eating an entire chicken?”
While a fourth viewer found the meal hilarious, writing, “Caleb ordering a full chicken to himself,” alongside several laughing emojis.
During the dinner scene which was incredibly distracting for viewers, the couple were discussing whether Kim Tate (Claire King) could be responsible for the fire in an act of payback.
As soap fans know, Beth has been working with the now-missing Rose Taylor (Christine Tremarco) to take down Kim.
However, Kim recently uncovered the plot. Is she out for revenge?

Of course, Caleb and Ruby will need to find proof if they expect anyone to believe their theory and clear Caleb’s name.
How this storyline will unfold remains to be seen, but Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper has promised that Caleb and Ruby will be at the forefront of some Dales drama going forward.
“We’ve got Caleb and Ruby, who’ve landed in the village and had a real impact, but we don’t know much about them,” Sophie said in an interview
“There’s lots in terms of their history, particularly Ruby’s, that is yet unknown. We’re going to see a bit of a blast from their past come back and really give us more about this complicated relationship between husband and wife and the complicated family dynamics we have there.
