Channel 5 signed up Jay for The West End Through Time - his very own television show.
In the series, he took to the streets of London to explore the origins of the West End.
During a visit to St Martins-in-the Field Church, Jay was told about a historical discovery made in 2006 that changed perspectives on the origins of London.
The 54-year-old has also bagged a project with Channel 4 with a rather unlikely co-star.
He will be working alongside Dame Judi Dench for a one-off programme titled Dame Judi & Jay: The Odd Couple.
Although born nearly four decades apart, the pair developed a friendship for life after a chance meeting three years ago.
Keen to learn more about each other's lives, the show follows Jay and Dame Judi as they embark on a journey together.
In particular, exploring the places and people who have shaped their respective backgrounds.
Jay said: “To learn about a new friend’s past really solidifies the future of your friendship.
"Going down memory lane with someone dear to you is something I would urge everyone to do.
"This show has given me memories and a friendship I will cherish forever.”
