LOVE Island has been entertaining us for almost a decade - but a lot has changed since the ITV programme first graced our screens in 2015.

Bosses like to introduce wild rules and shock factor to keep us on our toes - like throwing a celebrity into the mix this year.

Some fans called for "no more celebs in the villa" after Joey Essex joined season 11.

Others begged for lastminute bombshells to be scrapped, following Mimii winning the show with latecomer Josh, and Lola and Harry failing to make a splash.

However, a huge wave of viewers have demanded three major shake-ups ahead of series 12 next year.

Ditch the Hideaway 'twist'

The new hideaway twist sounded very good in theory, but fans branded it "a flop" this series.

Love Island found itself in a 'fakery' row when fans claimed the Hideaway twist was "staged."

For the first time ever the Hideaway was open at all hours – and a the sign above the door said ‘No Invite Needed’.

But the twist was it was only open to those who weren't in a couple.

Joey whisked his ex Grace Jackson into The Hideaway for a night of passion in front of devastated Samantha Kenny.

Despite his former squeeze Samantha being left in tears, Joey took Grace into the secret bonk pad where they continued their raunchy reunion.

Fans are now convinced that the hideaway rules were changed specifically for Joey and that the line-up of events were written in his contract.

One viewer said: "Change hideaway back to original format and allow couples who win challenges to go in! Or if it’s a team challenge, have the winning team elect a couple to go in."

Another said: "You know the producers came up with this new hideaway rule just for Joey to use in this exact moment."

Fix Casa Amor and Movie Night

Movie Night has been classed "a waste of time" this year as the cast knew it was coming.

Fans urged bosses to refresh the segment that exposes all the villa secrets on a big screen.

One said: "Find a way to incorporate exposing them in 4k when they don't know it's coming & haven't already got over it. Let them see tapes early on when they can actually switch up."

Another said the dumped Casa Amor cast should deliver their secrets on movie night instead.

One suggested: "No debriefs from the Casa girls and boys afterwards. Those not picked should have one opportunity to say what they want to say and then be sent on their merry way. Save everything for movie night."

Meanwhile Casa Amor was cut short this season and viewers also think that was a mistake.

Another moaned: "Make Casa Casa again! Make casa last 4 days instead of 2!"

Another agreed: "Yh Casa for sure needs to be longer. Finding out they only get three hours a day to speak with the opposite sex is why it always flops. No chance for a deep connection."

Bring back challenges

Viewers noticed a lack of challenges too - with The Sun exclusively revealing the real reason they had been scrapped.

Whilst viewers were glad to see the back of messy food and drink games, they missed fun segments where the Islanders dressed up in sexy costumes or when they expose home truths in classics like Mean Tweets.

One viewer said on Reddit: "Way more challenges that force islanders to mix, and allow them to actually win something like immunity from the next vote."

Another said: "I think the season dragged because of things like lack of challenges. Every episode felt the same."
