The Travelling Auctioneers has been a fan favourite on BBC One since it first launched in 2022 but the programme's host JJ Chalmers has confirmed that filming for the third series has been put on hold to allow him to front coverage of both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

JJ will present both the Beeb's coverage of the Games in Paris as well as for the Paralympics on Channel 4.

It has meant that production on the currently scheduled third series will resume this October with JJ working alongside co-hosts Christina Trevanion and Izzie Balmer.

Confirming that Travelling Auctioneers had been halted in the meantime, JJ exclusively told The Sun: "We have been filming The Travelling Auctioneers again and it's been great fun.

"It is going to go on pause as obviously I need to go to the Olympics and Paralympics and then go back and do more of that in October."

JJ replaced The Repair Shop star Will Kirk as the programme's leading host in 2023 and he told The Sun at Channel 4's recent Paralympics launch that "what you see is what you get" on the programme.

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant told us: "We have one day in a house and we have to work our socks off.

"You walk in that door, say 'can we have a look around' and then you relentlessly work until the sun goes down.

"It is really legit!"

He further went on to open up about his working dynamic with his co-hosts as he revealed that filming in the show's trusty van was the same as embarking on a "road trip" with pals.

JJ said: "Christina and Izzie, I adore the both of them.

"We get on like a house on fire and it's good having their expertise as it helps to improve my work.

"Equally, we definitely have a nice time.

"We've been back out on the road and I've been filming with Izzie so far and it is just like it appears.

"We are out on a road trip, travelling around in that van and having a good time."
