Danny Dyer leaves viewers gobsmacked as he reveals hidden talent in new comedy Mr Bigstuff
Danny Dyer wanted to take on a new role that’s ‘a bit leftfield’ and that’s exactly what he did
DANNY Dyer has left Sky viewers gobsmacked by his secret dancing skills in his new comedy, Mr Bigstuff.
He plays Lee, a slightly unhinged man on the run who reconnects with estranged brother Glen (Ryan Sampson). Together, they perform a hilarious dance routine that has left fans in awe.

Danny’s role in Mr Bigstuff couldn’t be further from his EastEnders character, Mick Carter.
The 47-year-old was hoping that when he made the move away from the soap, he would have the opportunity to challenge himself with new roles.
“I’ve been very busy. I’ve had a great couple of years since I’ve left, thank you very much. It’s been great for me. I’m trying some different stuff. It’s about what I say no to now. And I want to try to do some different stuff,” the soap star said during an interview on Virgin Radio.
He added: “I want to explore myself as an actor. And I’m 47 now, and I just want to try things that are a bit leftfield and a little bit out there.”

Happily for Mr Bigstuff creator Ryan, 38, Danny’s decision to quit the soap came at the perfect time as he knew The Wall host would be perfect for the part of Lee.
Ryan takes the other lead role of Lee’s brother Glen, a nervy perfectionist and carpet salesman striving to live a suburban ideal. While Lee is described as “an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction and a tin full of their dad’s ashes.”
Mr Bigstuff premiered on Wednesday night (July 17), and from the moment Danny appears on the screen, it’s clear he’s put his all into this new character.
Viewers have been impressed by what they’ve seen too. So far, Mr Bigstuff has received rave reviews, with viewers saying it is one of the funniest shows they’ve seen in ages.

“This show is crazy, mad and absolutely funny, I was really not expecting it,” one fan praised on X, formerly Twitter.
Another viewer revealed that they were hooked after the first episode, writing: “So funny this. What a brilliant pairing these 2 are. Think I’ll be bingeing it.”

But it’s Danny’s dancing skills in the first episode of the six-part series which has been earning him the most praise.
To convince Kirsty (Hariet Webb) that Lee is in fact his brother, Glen and Lee perform a dance from their childhood talent show, complete with spoons as props.
Though ridiculous sounding, the dance is rather impressive. Set to the M People hit Moving On Up, Lee and Glen dance around the living room, tapping their spoons across their bodies in time to the music.
Kirsty may be horrified by the whole ordeal, but viewers at home found Danny’s slick moves absolutely hilarious.

“I can honestly say I’ve never laughed so hard at spoons," one fan gushed.
“Danny Dyer being the ultimate Danny Dyer," said another.
While a third praised: “Well, Mr Bigstuff has just made me do a big fat belly laugh. I didn’t know I needed Ryan Sampson & Danny Dyer doing a dance involving spoons to Moving On Up, but I feel a whole lot better now.”
Danny will no doubt be happy with the praise, given how much work actually went into it.

“I read it and I thought, ‘How on earth are we going to pull this off?’ Because the way Ryan wrote it was just this whole sort of great big paragraph about how it’s very showbiz, very Vegas. I’m thinking ‘How are we gonna do this?’” he said, before admitting that he and Ryan went full “Footloose” with their moves.
“We took it very, very seriously. A bit of Footloose in there, maybe. You have to watch the show to understand, but it’s our way of convincing someone that we’re brothers.”
