CHANNEL 5 star Dan Walker is being slammed by fans over his latest video of his friend’s dog.
Fans have been outraged by a particular detail of Dan’s video, which shows his friend’s dog cutely shuffling up a flight of stairs backwards.
Before Christmas, TV presenter Dan, 41, posted a sweet video of his friend’s “cheeky” dog Hunter who was showing off his ability to climb a flight of stairs backwards, despite the fact he’s “not allowed upstairs.”
However, the Instagram video is now drawing criticism from social media users who have one major gripe with it.
Dan’s fans believe it is cruel for a dog not to be allowed upstairs.
The Channel 5 news presenter starts off the video by explaining: “My friend’s dog, Hunter, is not allowed upstairs…”

But the video shows Hunter sneakily backing up the staircase.
Dan added: “But… in Hunter’s mind… if he goes backwards… he hasn’t really been upstairs at all.”
Unfortunately, the cute video, which was obviously meant to be funny, was met with a lot of backlash.
While some did see the funny side, many of Dan’s followers have criticised Hunter’s owner for not allowing him upstairs.

“Not nice - feel for that poor dog,” one social media user said in the comments.
“Let him upstairs for Christ’s sake!!!,” added another.
“Let that sweet dog upstairs!!! His life is short, and he deserves as much love as possible!!!,” commented a third.
While a fourth called out Hunter’s owner, saying: “I agree, dogs love to be part of the family… if they can’t have the total house and family, you don’t deserve their undying loyalty and love!”
Dan, who is a dog owner himself, hasn’t responded to the comments, but has recently spoken out about a serious health issue he’s been dealing with.
Earlier this month, the former BBC Breakfast presenter revealed he’s been grappling with torn wrist ligaments which have caused him problems for weeks.
The main problem being his inability to participate in golf – with the Instagram post noting he was finally able to start practising again, albeit on a virtual indoor course.
As his injury healed, the TV personality made sure to get back into the swing of things with some extra lessons.
Dan posted a short video as he took to the state-of-the-art virtual driving range.
Fans caught a glimpse of his swing skills in the short clip as he practised hitting the ball after weeks of inactivity.
