‘Target on their back’ rant Love Island fans as they slam ITV bosses for ‘setting couple up to fail’
LOVE Island fans have hit out at show bosses for 'cursing' a villa couple just days ahead of the final.
Last night Welsh duo Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel were voted the most compatible couple by viewers.
While the honour is obviously a badge of honour for any serious partnership, there can be a downside to getting it too.
Last year Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo received the same title only to miss out on the top prize in the series final.
Viewers believe it might prevent people from voting for them again as they feel like the result is already a done deal.
One person wrote on X: "I hope the curse of Most Compatible 2 weeks out of the finale strikes Ciaran & Nicole like it did Whitney & Lochan. #LoveIsland."

"Guys I fear they will crown Sean and Matilda the winners. I was okay with Nicole and Ciaran taking it but they've named them the most compatible couple and you know what that means. I really don't like Sean."
"It's definitely unfair to Ciaran and Nicole and wont help them in terms of winning plus other couples will probably be jealous that they were voted most compatible."
Last night host Maya Jama revealed Lolly and Konnor, Grace and Reuben, and Jess and Ayo were at risk of being dumped from the villa.
As the most compatible, Ciaran and Nicole were tasked with deciding who would go home.
Nicole broke down in tears at the power given to them.
One fan said: "Bottom 3 couples prediction: Grace and Reuben, Ayo and Jess S, Konnor/Lolly If the Islanders decide to send home, they’ll probably send Lolly and Reuben home If they use the public’s vote then I’m not sure."
Someone else added: "Grace and Reuben are the least compatible. She said it herself in the re coupling speech and clearly has eyes for Josh."
However, many others believe it will be Konnor and Lolly who leave.
"That cliffhanger was so unnecessary cause we all know that lolly and konnor are going , sorry not sorry," said one.
Another added: "Cliffhanger is so cringe, we all know Konnor and Lolly are going home."
What happened to Whitney and Lochan in 2023 Love Island?
Whitney and Lochan found love late on in the summer series of 2023. The fact they're still together is testament to their connection.
They looked set for Love Island glory in the final stages of the series, receiving what many called 'the best final date' in the show's history.
The duo took to a luxury yacht on the Mediterranean and spent time on the top deck getting to know each other better away from their co-stars.
Ahead of the final they were voted the most compatible couple, and a poll of Sun readers had them favourites to win by a narrow margin.
But they were trumped at the final hurdle by Sammy Root and Jess Harding in a huge upset.
They had the last laugh though as they're still going strong while Sammy and Jess split up shortly after returning to the real world.
