Pop megastar becomes unlikely new EastEnders character as she duets with Barry at Queen Vic
POP great Cher has joined EastEnders’ cult hero Barry Evans to belt out one of her classic tunes.
The US star and the soap favourite — played by Shaun Williamson — took to the stage in the show’s Queen Vic to sing I Got You Babe.
Onlookers included Jessie Wallace’s character Kat Slater and Pam St Clement’s Pat Butcher.
It was filmed as part of an advert for streaming service UKTV — which has rebranded as U.
In the promo, Cher, 78, travels through U’s library of shows old and new while performing the hit.
She presents a cake to chef Jamie Oliver and the cast of MasterChef Australia and hitches a lift from the stars of biker drama series Sons of Anarchy.

Cher is also seen rock climbing with Orlando Bloom and in the back of a car driven by Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling on the World’s Most Dangerous Roads.
Shaun, 58, who played Barry for ten years from 1994, now tours his Barrioke show around the UK.
It was sparked by fans’ love for his karaoke scenes as Barry in the BBC soap.
Cher has toured the globe many times over and played a three-year concert residency in Las Vegas.
Their advert will play between shows on U’s channels, now renamed U&Dave, U&DRAMA, U&Yesterday and U&W.
The channel said of the advert: “Who better to do this than mega superstar Cher, while meeting some new and familiar friends along the way?”
