AMY Childs has revealed an A-list star is a huge fan of Towie and opened up on striking up an unlikely friendship with him.

After shooting to fame on the show Amy took part in The Jump in 2014 and became close to singer Sinitta, who was also taking part.

As a result Amy ended up becoming pals with Sinitta's friend Simon Cowell - and found out he loved Towie.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun in Cyprus, where the cast are filming at the Cap St Georges Hotel and Resort, Amy said: "I did The Jump with Sinitta so I got quite pally talking to Simon afterwards, and he always said to me, ‘Amy, Towie is iconic, it’s amazing’.

"He loves reality TV and said he'd watched series one, two and three of Towie and loved it.

"He didn’t say I was his favourite but he did say, ‘Amy, I just love your scenes’. You think of Simon Cowell, he’s a complete A-lister, loving Towie."

In the beginning of Towie Amy worked as a beautician and was responsible for making the vajazzle famous.

The infamous beauty treatment involves decorating a woman's privates with glitter or gem stones.

And Amy revealed Simon was fascinated by the procedure. She added: "He knew everything about the show and he asked about vajazzles, he said, ‘Is it real? Is it what you do?’ He was so invested in the vajazzles."
