Who is Love Island star Lionel Awudu? Meet the financial advisor from Reading

LIONEL Awudu tried to find the love of his life in the villa but failed.

Who is Lionel Awudu?

Lionel Awudu was one the 2024 Casa Amor bombshells, who believed he would bring 'good vibes' to the show.

Before entering he said: “I’ll bring confidence to the Villa, good energy and good vibes. 

“I love flirting. Just being very direct in what I want and who I want.

“I won’t be afraid to step on people’s toes and do my own thing. 

“One day they could be in your bed, the next day they could be in mine...”

As Lionel Awudu settles into the Love Island Villa, he’s already got his eye on three islanders: Mimii, Uma, and Grace. 

Each of these women has caught his attention for different reasons, and Lionel is eager to explore the unique connections he feels with each of them.

"Top three girls, in no particular order, are Mimii, Uma, and Grace," Lionel shares. 

He continues: "Besides the fact that they’re all very beautiful, their personalities really draw me in."

Lionel finds Mimii's reserved and chilled nature to be a perfect match for him.

“Mimii is more the reserved, chilled type. That matches me," he explains.

On the other hand, Uma's bubbly and energetic personality brings out a different side of Lionel. 

He said: "Uma brings in that energy.

“She’s very bubbly, and that brings out the energised side of me."

Grace strikes a balance between the two, combining elements of both reserve and vivacity. 

Lionel explained: "Grace is kind of a mix of the two. She’s more on the reserved side. That’s why I like her, as well as Mimii. They all seem cool and really nice."

What does Lionel Awudu do? 

Lionel Awudu is a 24-year-old financial advisor from Reading.

He said he joined Love Island as a bombshell to “find the love of his life”.

Lionel told ITV: “I’m trying to find the love of my life, who can appreciate me and I can appreciate them. 

“There’s no better place than Love Island. 

“I’ve tried traditional dating methods, but it hasn't really worked out for me.

“In life I feel like it’s better to try something new.”

When was Lionel Awudu dumped from Love Island?

Lionel Awudu was dumped from Love Island on Thursday July 4, 2024.

He left the villa with six other bombshells after they all did not secure a spot in the main villa.

During Casa Amor, he tried to connect with Mimii.

He said: "I tried my best to sway Mimii a little bit as she is a great girl.

"She’s the kind of girl I would go for, so it was a shame that we couldn't progress. 

"She’s cool, calm, collected and it felt natural with her."

However, Lionel was not surprised that he needed to leave the villa.

He added: "I thought mine and Mimii’s conversations were very easy and free flowing but obviously she did make it clear she was going to stay loyal to Ayo.

"Mimii said she was always going to stay true to herself and I respect that.

"Mimii and Uma were always top two for me but I have no regrets for pursuing things with Mimii."

In the end Mimii stayed loyal to Ayo, however, he recoupled with bombshell Jessica Spender, which left Mimii single.

Mimii was the last one to enter the villa after Casa Amor and was left in shock.

When Ayo was asked if he had anything to say to her, he responded: "Not now. I don’t think it’s the time."

What did Lionel Awudu say about leaving Love Island 2024?

Lionel said about his exit: "It’s a bittersweet ending.

"I really enjoyed my time with everyone.

"I didn’t know what to expect but it was brilliant and a total whirlwind.

The girls were beautiful, incredibly welcoming and kind.

"The boys all gelled together immediately, so it’s a bit of a surreal experience."

He described his time on the show as "everything and more".
