ONE iconic face in Poplar will return when series 14 airs on BBC One, and fans of the show will be pleased to welcome her back.
Actress Helen George, has played midwife Trixie Franklin, since Call the Midwife began in 2012 but made her exit at the end of the last series.
Viewers watched as Trixie made a tearful exit, leaving behind Poplar to follow husband Matthew (played by Olly Rix) to America.
The last series saw Matthew declared bankrupt and headed to new York to try and recover his finances.
Before he left, Matthew and Trixie had a heart to heart which saw him declare his doubts over Trixie's want to be a wife and step-mother to his son Jonty, especially whilst she was so busy with being a midwife.
A tearful exit from Trixie as she left Poplar and midwifery behind to join Matthew in New York, leaving viewers heartbroken that she may not feature in new episodes.

The next series of the BBC show will air in early 2025 after the annual Christmas special, and Trixie is thought to be returning.
Actress Helen George has been seen joining the cast on set for filming, wearing a beige shirt and green skirt which is thought to be from Trixie's wardrobe.
Helen also delighted fans as she posted to her Instagram in her full Trixie attire, as she tagged the official account.
In the snap, Helen was seen sporting Trixie's trademark blonde bob and black eyeliner alongside a 1970s inspired outfit as the series moves from 1960s into the 1970s.
