‘She should have left!’ rage Emmerdale fans after character is ‘barely seen’ in ITV soap

Amelia Spencer, played by actress Daisy Campbell, has 'barely been seen' on the ITV soap for weeks with many viewers worrying that she's being faded out.

The actress has been part of Emmerdale since April 2011, but has appeared to be in the background in recent episodes.

In previous episodes, Amelia has faced difficulties as her father Dan was sentenced to eight years in prison for accidentally killing Amelia's cyberstalker, Lloyd.

Not only that but she's also faced a teenage pregnancy as viewers watched the shocked Amelia discover she was with child last year.

Writing in a soap forum, concerned fans discussed her previous storylines as one fan wrote: "It was the idea of the actress who plays Amelia for the character to get preggers. A bad idea imo. It should never have happened."

Another responded: "It has done her a lot of good I don't think, she is hardly ever in it.

"Considering she is mean to stay in the pub , you never see her, the other cast do not even mention her. I know she has turned up this week but that has been the first for weeks."

Another replied back: "I think they either need to commit to the character staying and give her a place (maybe a second child and marriage to Noah? Making her fully part of a family now Dan is gone) or cut her character.

"If Samson is absent long-term I suppose they could kill her off and have Sam and Lydia raising Esther."

This isn't the first time that Emmerdale viewers have complained as Amelia disappeared from storylines.

Earlier this year Amelia appeared to fade into the background, whilst Chas Dingle seemed to be the main storyline after their cancer diagnosis.

At the time, viewers took to an online forum to ask why Amelia had 'barely been seen' as one wrote: "Just wondering if I’ve missed something…. Where is Amelia?"

Another replied: "She lives in the pub now I think. Spends her time working for Mandy, parenting and dating Noah."

A third joined in as they added: "I thought that was the case, just haven’t seen her in forever despite most storylines involving those she either lives or works with."
